Hap-hap-happy New Year to you! Welcome to MMXIV! Wishing you happiness and health. May this year be a spectacular one. As I do every New Year's Eve, I spent the day taking down all of the indoor Christmas decorations and giving the house a thorough cleaning. Everything feels fresh and good and I'm ready to begin 2014. In the evening, I went out to a pajama party at my cousin's house. At midnight, we went out on to the front lawn and banged pots and pans together. It was fun!

So, have you made any New Year's resolutions? This Christmas, I received two musical instruments as gifts - an udu and a bodhrán. I now have a very nice assortment of percussion instruments and I'm excited about the rhythmic possibilities. My New Year's resolution this year will be to record another CD. Releasing "Joyful Noise" in 2013 was very satisfying and I'm looking forward to doing it all again. I already have 8 pieces of new music written and I hope to work on them in the studio over the winter. Perhaps I'll have a new album out on iTunes by early summer. Other than that, it also popped in my head that I'd like to take a dance course at some point in 2014. Maybe Latin dancing. I know that the school usually offers courses like that in the spring. I haven't looked into it yet, so I'll see how it goes. Cheers!

"Behold, I will do a new thing;
now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?
I will even make a way in the wilderness,
and rivers in the desert."

~Isaiah 43:19
